White Castle launched a new Crispy Chicken Slider Monday, marking its first new, permanent premium item in three years, the company said in a press release.
The chicken sliders contain all-white meat chicken with a buttermilk breading and come topped with a new honeycomb mustard sauce. For 20 cents more, guests can get a Deluxe Chicken Slider, which has American cheese, lettuce and tomato.
The updated menu item is bigger and crispier than its predecessor, and costs 10 cents less, according to the press release. The Crispy Chicken Slider is priced at $2.39 while the Crispy Chicken Deluxe costs $2.59, according to the chain’s online ordering website.
White Castle frequently updates its menu with limited-time offerings, like flavors for its Chicken Rings, new Shrimp Nibblers and French Toast Sliders. But this latest product is the first permanent menu item it’s added to its menu since 2022, when it launched the 1921 Slider, which was inspired by the chain’s first slider.
As part of the rollout, White Castle is offering an exclusive $5 Crispy Chicken Combo, including two sliders, small fries and a small fountain drink, to members of its Craver Nation Rewards program. The chain recently extended its hours for the summer, beginning on June 20 with 91% of its restaurants open until at least 1 a.m. and 72% open 24/7.
White Castle is the latest chain to bolster its chicken offerings. Earlier this month, Culver’s launched an upgraded lineup of chicken sandwiches while Popeyes, Taco Bell and McDonald’s have all expanded their crispy chicken offerings in recent months.
