Name: Jennifer Anderson
New title: Chief marketing officer, Mod Pizza
Previous title: Chief marketing officer, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers
At Mod Pizza, Anderson will oversee all marketing aspects at the chain, such as advertising, digital marketing, consumer insights and engagement, local store marketing and menu development, according to a press release emailed to Restaurant Dive.
Anderson brings nearly two decades of marketing and culinary experience to her new role at Mod Pizza, according to her LinkedIn profile. At Raising Cane’s, where she spent nearly eight years, she led various marketing initiatives that contributed to the brand growing from 100 to 550 locations, per the press release. She originally joined Raising Cane’s in 2013 as director of brand marketing and worked her way up to CMO.
Prior to Raising Cane’s, Anderson spent a decade at Darden in various culinary and marketing positions, per her LinkedIn profile. She originally joined the company as culinary manager and sales manager for Olive Garden and shifted to marketing in 2008. At Darden, she oversaw cross-functional teams to create seven nationally advertised promotions for the company.
Anderson’s appointment comes a few months after the chain appointed Beth Scott, previously Cooper’s Hawk chief restaurant officer, as its CEO. Co-founder Scott Svenson stepped down from his role as CEO after leading the chain for 15 years.
Last year, MOD began testing items outside of its core menu, including wings. It also made Pocket Pies permanent following strong demand when they were previously limited-time offers. It also updated its rewards program last June, lowering its minimum redemption points from 150 to 50 points and a shift to a tier structure for rewards.
