Mush Foods, the culinary innovator behind 50CUT, chef-ready mushroom and mushroom root blends for restaurants and foodservice, has named Padraic Doherty as Chief Growth Officer.
Doherty will lead sales, business development and fulfillment for Mush Foods, which recently launched its 50CUT mushroom root blends for ground beef, pork, and poultry dishes. Doherty brings more than 25 years of experience in foodservice, specialty food and hospitality operations sectors, having served most recently as Chief Revenue Officer for Fortune Fish & Gourmet and as SVP/GM at D’Artagnan, the nation’s premier specialty food distributor and leading purveyor of select meats.
“Padraic is a phenomenal addition to the Mush Foods executive team, bringing extensive experience and a wealth of knowledge to the table,” said Shalom Daniel, co-founder and CEO of Mush Foods. “With a remarkable track record driving collaborative business growth, Padraic’s depth of knowledge and relationships span small restaurants and fine dining establishments to national foodservice, retailers, and hospitality industry giants. We are thrilled to have Padraic as part of the team as we introduce our groundbreaking offering to the industry.”
“Since my first job at a restaurant as a teen, I’ve been passionate about food and about working with entrepreneurs and businesses at the forefront of the industry. I’m excited to be part of the team that is transforming the way people think about their favorite meat dishes,” said Padraic Doherty, Chief Growth Officer at Mush Foods. “50CUT enhances classic meat dishes, while addressing the current ‘diner’s dilemma’ – the desire to enjoy meat and to reduce how much meat they eat. I believe 50CUT will become an essential ingredient in foodservice - it’s the right product at the right time to meet the needs of both chefs and consumers.”
Food industry veteran Shalom Daniel, Dr. Idan Pereman (Agriculture) and Dr. Dan Levanon (Biology) started Mush Foods, a culinary innovator and creator of 50CUT, a unique line of premium mushroom and mushroom root blends for use in meat dishes. When added to ground meat, 50CUT provides all the beneficial attributes of mushrooms, like umami flavor and positive nutrition, while significantly reducing the environmental impact of the dish.
Based in New York, Mush Foods works with local farmers to grow mushrooms and mushroom roots above ground through a proprietary and sustainable cultivation technique that maximizes access to this nutrient-rich and delicious culinary treasure that usually remains buried underground. Chefs and diners can count on 50CUT’s clean label – no seasonings, no binding agents, no additives, or preservatives.
