Cartwheel, the on-demand delivery management platform, announced that it has joined the Toast Partner Ecosystem. This integration is designed to help restaurants using Cartwheel's innovative Hybrid Delivery and third-party fleet-management capabilities to manage these functions directly from their Toast point-of-sale (POS) system.
Cartwheelʼs Hybrid Delivery technology is designed to help restaurants to optimize their in-house and outsourced delivery operations. Cartwheel also connects seamlessly with multiple national third-party fleets, providing increased flexibility and choice when it comes to order fulfillment.
Toast is a cloud-based, all-in-one digital technology platform purpose-built for the entire restaurant community. It works with integration partners in its Toast Partner Ecosystem, a curated portfolio of more than 200 partners who deliver specialized technology and services to help restaurant operators increase sales, engage guests, and keep employees happy.
"We are thrilled to welcome Cartwheel to the Toast Partner Ecosystem and delighted to offer our customers Hybrid Delivery and fleet management capabilities with the Toast POS,” said Keith Corbin, Senior Director, Business Development, Toast. “By working with Cartwheel, restaurants can not only enhance their in-house delivery capabilities, but also tap into multiple third-party fleets to help optimize the delivery experience."
The partnership has proven beneficial for Kevin Polk, owner of Jackrabbit Deliveries, an RMDA-leading local delivery service company. Polk said, “I serve two restaurants using both Toast and Cartwheel, Cool Moose Cafe and Meat Boss, and both see seamless order flow from one step to the next. In addition to access to national third-party networks, restaurants are able to prioritize local DSPs, including Jackrabbit, for maximum optionality.”
Another joint customer, Michael DeNunzio of Fine Folk Pizza, said, “We use our own drivers as well as third-party drivers. Cartwheel’s driver tracking and delivery management tools have helped us improve the customer experience.”
Through Cartwheel, restaurants gain access to a vast network of delivery drivers and local independent delivery service providers (DSPs), with a seamless flow between order and delivery management. Cartwheel’s Hybrid Delivery technology can help Toast customers optimize their in-house and outsourced delivery operations, directly from their existing Toast POS. The platform offers a customized and branded order tracking interface, helping restaurants to increase brand awareness and drive customer loyalty.
“Thanks to Toast’s open, partner-powered approach, restaurants of all kinds can utilize Cartwheel’s best-in-class technology to optimize delivery,” said Alex Vasilkin, co-founder and CEO, Cartwheel. “Especially for categories like pizza, it’s crucial that delivery is streamlined and efficient, and we’re proud to empower Toast customers with the tools to get it right.”
Cartwheel is an on-demand delivery management platform for enterprise restaurant brands and beyond.
The company was founded in 2012 as a delivery restaurant. After it quickly grew to become one of the most popular delivery operations in Los Angeles, the founders decided to focus solely on the delivery outsourcing business. When the team realized there was no software solution to meet all of their needs, they decided to build it themselves.
Cartwheel offers turnkey solutions for in-house delivery operations, including an easy-to-use driver app, sophisticated dispatch tools for managers, and user-friendly customer interaction functionality.
To date, Cartwheel has powered deliveries for top brands including Portillo’s (also a Cartwheel investor), P.F. Chang’s, Potbelly, and more. Cartwheel is also partnered with Olo and its network of restaurants nationwide.
The company is headquartered in Los Angeles. For more information, visit www.trycartwheel.com
