Cartwheel, an on-demand delivery management platform for restaurants, couriers, and beyond, today announced a new partnership with San Francisco-based Nash, empowering merchants and business owners with an end-to-end last-mile delivery solution.
Nash makes local delivery a turn-key process for any last-mile delivery service provider who wishes to offer local delivery services to their customers. It does this by transmitting orders to last-mile delivery service providers in a uniform fashion. Nash connects fleets through APIs (such as Cartwheel) and enables access to a large network of businesses. With Nash, any business can access hundreds of delivery service providers through a single integration.
Hundreds of local delivery companies using the Nash platform can now access Cartwheel’s delivery management tools, including real-time driver tracking and route optimization to manage third-party delivery fleets. Paired with delivery orchestration tools from Nash, businesses are able to efficiently power and scale delivery offerings while maintaining control over the customer’s brand experience.
According to Mahmoud Ghulman, Nash CEO, “Last mile is not a zero-sum game. Managing a successful delivery operation requires seamless access to third-party fleets. The Nash / Cartwheel integration will enable fleets running on Cartwheel’s technology to access new sources of demand nationwide in the US and Canada. Moreover, it will allow businesses to have enhanced visibility in tracking their internal drivers while having access to third party fleets.”
FULFLLD, a last-mile delivery service trusted by brands and businesses including Panera Bread, Fresh Direct, and Stop & Shop turned to solutions from Cartwheel and Nash when it came time to expand operations in new markets, as its active systems weren’t optimized for scale. Using Nash for order generation and Cartwheel to manage delivery operations, FULFLLD scaled from five cities to eight in just three months while achieving a 98% on-time delivery rate, reducing time-to-quote by 30% and minimizing its carbon footprint thanks to intelligent route optimization.
“Cartwheel and Nash together provide a cohesive delivery management platform that has allowed FULFLLD to scale to new markets and optimize every aspect of our offering,” said Levy Yakubov, founder, FULFLLD. “Sustainability is a core initiative for us and for our customers, and the smart routing and tracking capabilities built into the offering have led to a drastic reduction in overall delivery distances and related carbon footprint.”
Cartwheel’s turnkey suite of offerings includes an easy-to-use driver app, sophisticated dispatch tools for managers, and user-friendly customer interaction functionality with custom branding and reviews integrations. Its Hybrid Delivery model enables courier companies to use their primary fleets by default, while providing access to backup drivers and tools to manage them during times of high order volume or overflow. This model of delivery management ensures that operators maintain control over the delivery experience while balancing costs and oversight.
“Delivery is a necessity in today’s market, and businesses need solutions that can keep up with the accelerating pace of e-commerce,” said Alex Vasilkin, co-founder and CEO, Cartwheel “This partnership enables businesses to quickly and efficiently turn on and manage delivery operations, and our seamless integrations make it simple to scale to new locations as customers grow.”
To date, Cartwheel has powered deliveries for top brands including Portillo’s (also a Cartwheel investor), P.F. Chang’s, Charleys Philly Steaks, and more.
About Cartwheel
Cartwheel is an on-demand delivery management platform for restaurants and beyond. The company was founded in 2012 as a delivery restaurant. After it quickly grew to become one of the most popular delivery operations in Los Angeles, the founders decided to focus solely on the delivery outsourcing business. When the team realized there was no software solution to meet all of their needs, they decided to build it themselves. Cartwheel offers turnkey solutions for in-house delivery operations, including an easy-to-use driver app, sophisticated dispatch tools for managers, and user-friendly customer interaction functionality. Cartwheel is also partnered with Olo and its network of restaurants nationwide. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles. For more information, visit www.trycartwheel.com
